Inspiration:

Commissioned by David Lees, Guernsey, Channel Islands who I met at the Jane Powell Art Gallery, Kenilworth, U.K. in 2000.

David used to go to school on the train from this delightful railway station, which sadly no longer exists.

He wanted to rekindle his memories of his schooldays,
so after some considerable research I created the image before you.

Gloucester library and my local library proved fruitful for photographic material.

This image appeared in a Guernsey, Channel Islands newspaper article in early February 2005.
