Inspiration:

A visit to 'The Bear' public house in Berkwell with the Jane Powell Art Group.
This was followed by a walk around Berkswell Church.

Being a Resident Artist at the time I met people at the gallery who made requests for images of Berkswell Church.
So I was inspired to create a scene of the church.

The scene before you shows the church without the gates.
I believe a place of worship should be available for use at any time of day without the restriction of locked gates.

The glistening sunlight on the snow at the time made for an endearing photograph for use as a painting in December 2000, which I began almost straight away.
